Mumbai, September 8: Actress Rhea Chakraborty has filed a complaint against Rajput's sister Priyanka Singh and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital authorities over preparing a "fake" prescription of medicines for anxiety, on Monday. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde confirmed the development.
After being grilled by the NCB for nearly 8 hours on Monday, Rhea Chakraborty reached Bandra Police Station on Monday evening to record her statement. She has filed the complaint based on WhatsApp messages between Sushant and his sister on June 8.
The complaint alleges that a 'forged prescription' was prescribed for "narcotic or psychotropic substances".The chats between SSR and Priyanka suggest that she had asked Sushant to take Librium for a week, Nexito every day, and Lonazep for 'whenever there is anxiety attack'.
The complaint filed with the Mumbai Police also names Dr. Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for forgery. Rhe has demanded that both be booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for forgery, the Narcotics Drugs, and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines.
Mumbai Police said that the case is registered under IPC section 420, 464, 465, 466, 468, 474, 306, 120B, 34 and r/w Sec 8(c), 21, 22(A), 29 of NDPS Act. Meanwhile, as per the Supreme Court's verdict, the case is transferred to CBI for further investigation.
After reading the complaint Sushant Singh Rajput's family lawyer Vikas Singh in a press briefing said that this is Rhea's 'desperate attempt to derail the investigation, tarnish the image of the family' and to 'keep Mumbai Police jurisdiction alive' in the case.
Meanwhile, Rhea is being questioned by the NCB for the second consecutive day in the ongoing probe. She appeared before the NCB for the first time on Sunday. But the NCB has summoned her again for the third consecutive round of interrogation on Tuesday. Addressing the media after the interrogation on Monday, NCB said that it would submit a detailed report of the findings to the court.
Her brother Showik Chakraborty and two close associates of Sushant - Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant - have already been arrested by the agency after drugs-related allegations emerged in the death case. Showik confessed to NCB that he used to arrange the drugs on his sister's instructions.
He also stated that Samuel Miranda used to arrange it & bring it to SSR home. Showik also was in touch with many drug peddlers. Moreover, a total of 9 people has been arrested so far in the drugs probe with 7 being directly linked to the case. Miranda confessed to buying drugs as per the instructions of Rhea and Showik
Three top agencies of the country - Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and NCB - are probing various angles in Sushant's death. He was found dead at his apartment in Mumbai on June 14.
