Mumbai, September 08: Rhea Chakraborty has been taken into NCB custody in a drug probe after she confessed that she was taking drugs along with the late actor and her brother Shwoik. She has arrested under the NDPS Act after 3 days of interrogation, and she will be taken for a medical test.

 

 

 

Paperwork and other formalities for Rhea Chakraborty's arrest are being completed, said KPS Malhotra, Deputy Director, Narcotics Control Bureau. She will be presented to the court for Custodial Remand.

  

This comes after Rhea does a U-turn saying 'I might have smoked a joint' on the second day of interrogation. She also reiterated her claim that she has never consumed drugs. She said that she used to smoke cigarettes filled with marijuana (ganja). Rhea told the NCB officials during the questioning that she used to smoke drugs-filled cigarettes with late star Sushant Singh Rajput.

 

Rhea also claimed that Sushant was consuming drugs since 2016. Moreover, Rhea has also revealed the names of several actors, directors, and producers who are allegedly related to a drug cartel to NCB. She even confessed that she had done drugs on the behest of Sushant. She was first summoned for questioning by the agency on Sunday. She was questioned for about six hours on Day 1. Later, she was grilled for around 8 hours on Monday.

 

Meanwhile, after Rhea had filed a fresh complaint against the late actor's sister Priyanka Singh, Sushant's family files a complaint against Dr. Susan Walker for allegedly flouting medical conduct guidelines. The FIR filed by Rhea has been transferred to the CBI for further investigation.

 

Sushant's sister Shweta Singh Kirti tweeted, "Nothing’s gonna break us, definitely not this fake FIR!" On the other hand, senior advocate Vikas Singh said, "Mumbai police shall not accept any such complaint as it would be a clear violation of the Supreme Court's order. The order clearly prohibits any other agency apart from CBI from registering any new complaint in this case."

Besides Rhea, her brother Showik, Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda, a domestic help Dipesh Sawant, and two drug peddlers Abdul Basit Parihar and Zaid Vilatra are also in NCB custody. A total of nine people have been arrested till now by the NCB with seven directly linked to this probe.

 

Two were arrested when the investigation was launched under criminal sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The Narcotics Control Bureau has also summoned Sushant Singh Rajput’s staff Neeraj Singh, Keshav in the case.
