ANTIFA - The recurring political cancer of democratic societies…

Antifa is a trans-national insurgency movement that uses extreme violence to subvert democratic governments with the aim of replacing global free enterprise and market economy with communist ideology and totalitarian governments. The word Antifa is a short-form for ‘anti-fascists’. The traditional meaning of “fascism” is defined as “a totalitarian government system led by a dictator with emphasis on aggressive nationalism, militarism and often racism”.

 

According to Soeren Kern of the Gatestone Institute ; the ideological origins of Antifa can be traced back to the former Soviet Union. In 1921-1922, the Communist International developed the ‘united front tactic’ for unifying the working masses through organized agitation, and to work against “capitalism” and “fascism”, though the two terms are often used separately as needed for political action. The world’s first organized Antifa group ‘Arditi del Popolo’ (People’s Courageous Militia) was founded in Italy in 1921 to resist the rising power of Benito Mussolini and his National Fascist Party, which in itself was established to prevent the rise of the Bolshevik (a radical, far-left, violent Marxist faction founded by Vladimir Lenin and A. Bogdanov) revolution on the Italian peninsula.

 

 

Post World-War II , the most infamous Antifa group was the Red Army Faction, aka the Baader-Meinhof Gang; which characterized itself as a fascist functionary of the Nazi era. This urban guerrilla group committed bombings, kidnappings and assassinations in their aim to bring about a revolution in what was then the country of West Germany; murdering 30 people and injuring 200 over the course of 30 years. The foremost tactic employed by the Antifa on-ground, is the use of extreme violence and destruction of public and private property to provoke the law-enforcement agencies into reacting and then playing the ‘victim card’, claim that the government is “fascist”. Antifa has no central leadership and no clear organizational structure; though they are presently organized as local groups via social media. Antifa members take part in protests and rallies with a clear aim of disrupting the gatherings, using organized violence as their foremost strategy. According to Antifa members who were interviewed by CNN, Antifa uses violence as a means of ‘self-defense’ where all authoritarian entities (such as the police) are the enemy and that destruction of property in their view does not equate to violence.

 

In India, Antifa glorifies naxalism, advocates violence against the democratically elected government and promotes the idea of genocide against all those opposed to its ideology. Their Facebook page ‘Anti-fascist Action India’ promotes speeches of persons like Kafeel Khan, Sharjeel Usmani and Devengana Kalita who were arrested under the National Security Act. Antifa India is predominantly made-up of ‘urban naxals’, the same group of people who glorified the recent Delhi riots. It’s not the only Antifa page that exists on Facebook. There are many other pages that share similar content and glorify the violence of naxals, (whose insurgency against the Government of India has been reduced greatly through pro-active police operations, but which still exists in patches as an extremist-terrorist group). Antifa activities on various other social media platforms pursue the same agenda, with some users calling for ‘direct action’ against the government. The term direct action has a horrific meaning in Indian history. It was the founder of Pakistan, Jinnah who gave a call for ‘direct action day’ on 16 August 1946; the starting day of the Calcutta Killings of 1946 which lead to the organized massacre of Hindus by Muslims under the patronage of the Bengal premier Huseyn S. Suhravady; who later on became the fifth prime minister of Pakistan. The death toll of Hindus in this massacre was approximately 10, 000 with less than 100 Muslims dead. Emboldened by their ‘success’, the Calcutta killings was followed by the Naokhali genocide of Hindus where the Hindu death toll exceeded 50,000 and almost the entire Hindu population was annihilated. The call for direct action ultimately led to the 1947 partition of Unified India into two countries, the Democratic Republic of India and the Islamic Nation of Pakistan.

 

Rumors are abound that global Antifa movements are funded by billionaire George Soros and his ‘Open Society Foundations’; and these rumors have been officially refuted by Open Society Foundations. However, its a matter of verified public records that Soros has pledged one billion US dollars against ‘resurgent nationalism’ and in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos; has openly target the democratically elected Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, with his public statement; stating (falsely) that the Indian State was ‘imposing punitive measures on Kashmir, a semi-autonomous muslim region and threatening to deprive millions of Muslims of their citizenship’. Others believe that ‘naxalism’ in India is sponsored and funded by China as a part of its expansionist policy, though there seems to be no documentary evidence in the public domain to support this claim.

 

While nations in North America and Europe may find it difficult to prosecute Antifa members due to its horizontal and leaderless structure; in India, where democratic governments at national and state levels have been targeted by armed Naxalite who have kidnapped, killed and terrorized civilians and engaged in combat with police and para-military forces using armaments of war (guns, mortars, improvised explosive devices, et al); prosecution by due process of the law of both the armed, on-the-field combatants and their Urban Naxal (aka Antifa) supporters, who are a mix of anarchists, socialists, communists and far-left activists can be much easily accomplished.

 

The irony remains that while democratic principles of India allows people the freedom of expression and action, to ensure a strong, stable and free society; Antifa and urban-naxals use these same rights enshrined in our Constitution to subvert laws, promote sedition and attempt to divide the nation along religious and sectarian differences.
