Amitabh Bachchan becomes first Indian celebrity voice to lend voice for Alexa

Mumbai, September 14: To create a unique voice experience for Indian fans, the Amazon Alexa team roped Amitabh Bachchan as Alexa’s (Amazon’s digital assistant) first celebrity voice in India. Big B's voice will be available on Alexa devices next year, the company said.

 

 

The Amazon Alexa team will work closely with Mr. Bachchan to capture the iconic voice from the Shehenshah of Bollywood and deliver a unique voice experience to customers. It will include popular offerings like jokes, weather, shayaris, motivational quotes, advice, and more."Customers in India will be able to access Mr. Bachchan’s iconic voice on Alexa by purchasing the Amitabh Bachchan voice experience," Amazon said.

Alexa in the US already has the voices of several celebrities like Samuel L Jackson, but this is the first time that the Indian Alexa will get the voice of a Bollywood celebrity.

Alexa is also available on the Echo, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Fire TV Edition, the free Alexa app as well as the Amazon shopping app (Android only). In addition, several third-party devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, wearables, and smart TVs also come with Alexa built-in.
