A region of intense diversity, wherein every 30-35th mile one could and still finds not only a different speaking language, but also a different facial feature, a different turban on the head, different food, different clothes, different practices, different perceptions and opinions, yet beyond all of this reflects a common divinity, the divinity which rather appears more precise when given the title "A Seeker's Way, a quality that the entire region has been sharing, and to a large extent flaunts for, reaps from and shall ever be known for, to the world in some way or the other.
Patience and tolerance in this region run in its veins, terms like Mukti (liberation) and Chetana (Consciousness) are frequent mentions in every home, hardly any religion did exist here to believe and adhere to, everyone wore just seekers seeking in their ways and to an extent that even the divine incarnations were asked a thousand questions, and more surprisingly, a culture that beholds crores of Gods, where a single-family of five may have their five different Gods, with no objection from anyone.
A culture that is just the only one of its kind in most aspects, that talks about exceptional concepts like Karma, Yoga, Bhakti, Mukti, Dharma, etc, one of the oldest yet the richest, also well known as "Sanatana Dharma". I cannot define it anyway, nor am I able to create a true image of it in any mind, for the culture is beyond any definition of my narrow perception, So thinking and trying to bring it under some bounded conclusion will rather lead to its confinement which is not its nature at all, but yes one should observe it rationally with a neutral and questioning mind and when satiated, should learn from it.
As I wrote this article, I could recollect a great Yogi, who had once said that the culture is more of a "Cosmic Chaos" that cannot be apprehended by the human intellect. The region where the culture flourished was once known as "Akhand Bharat" which was intensely multifarious even geographically with the most fertile of plains, appealing valleys, swathy hills, mystical mountains, arid desert, etc, that made and still makes it even more fascinating and intriguing, but due to certain circumstances, this Greater India (Akhand Bharat) has today been broken into different nations namely India, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Afghanistan. Again, a worse part of the story is that all of these so-called different nations aren't even good neighbors anymore, as the culture itself is slowly taking its last breaths from most of them today.
Seeking knowledge of the self has become an old school practice for the young minds here, while the urge to gain or rather to snatch and take over power and money anyhow, at any cost has sneaked into the heads of the men today, resulting with even the most intimate ones turned against each other, like Nepal and India. The two terrific terrains which were once seen as the hills and plains of Akhand Bharat, witnessing and holding the Samadhis of innumerable, selfless, desire less and austere, enlightened beings with many more have today forgotten their true identities and are glowering at each other like old enemies. It appears quite clearly that some very pathetic and so-called political ambitions of a few in the ruling body on the other side of the Kali River is threatening their relationship, and this I feel may cost a bigger price to the culture and the people in both the sides, if the common, local masses today do not rub their eyes and give attention to.
I hope, that the cunning whims of a few and the misunderstandings between the two don't exist for long and the two spiritual brothers soon reach to a peaceful tie and keep up with their "Roti-Beti" or "Bhaat-Chori” wala relationship for a more progressive and positive future together. Both these nations have such enormous potencies that their synergy in the future can even direct the entire world in the path of knowing the Self.
