"The whole world has been waiting for someone to develop a medicine for coronavirus. Today, we are proud that we developed the first ayurvedic medicine for coronavirus. It has been named Coronil," he said.

Baba Ramdev had revealed that COVID-19 patients who were given Coronil - which is made from a mixture of Ashwagandha, Giloy, and Tulsi - showed a 100 percent recovery rate. Ramdev claimed that Patanjali has followed "all scientific rules" in developing this ayurvedic medicine to treat Covid-19 patients. He also said that the controlled clinical trials were jointly conducted by Patanjali Research Institute, Haridwar, and National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur.

"We conducted a clinical study of 100 patients. Around 65 percent of them returned negative test results within three days," Ramdev said. is applicable for adults ranging between 15-80 years of age whereas children are advised to take half the dosage prescribed for adults. Further, he added, "Hundred percent of patients got cured in seven days. We have prepared this medicine with adequate research. Our medicine has a 100 percent recovery rate and zero percent death rate."

Acharya Balkrishna, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Patanjali, who had earlier claimed that an Ayurvedic medicine developed by Patanjali has been able to cure Covid-19 patients, had tweeted that Patanjali will launch ayurvedic medicine, 'Swasari Vati, Coronil', for coronavirus contagion.

Explaining the process behind the cure, Balkishrna said that Patanjali had appointed a team of scientists the moment the fatal virus started spreading outside China. He added, "Firstly, the simulation was done and compounds were identified which can fight the virus. Then we conducted a clinical case study on hundreds of positive patients and we have got 100 percent favorable results".

About the medicine:
The 'Coronil kit' has three medicines including 2 in tablet form and one liquid. Coronil works on the respiratory system of the body as coronavirus affects the respiratory system due to which its patients lose the ability to breathe resulting in death. The ayurvedic ingredients in the Coronil improve the body's internal immunity and fight other Corona symptoms including fever, cough, cold.

Coronil will initially be available at Patanjali across the country stores within a week. Further, Patanjali urged people to practice Yoga every morning to stay protected from the Coronavirus infection and to boost their immune system. Apart from boosting the pulmonary system of the body, these Ayurvedic medicines strengthen the human physiology to encounter the COVID-19 infection, Patanjali claims.

The medicine has come after scientists and health authorities from all over the world have been working tirelessly to come up with a treatment for COVID-19. The front-runners in the race for developing a Covid-19 vaccine are AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Sanofi, BioNtech, and China’s CanSino Biologics.
