New Delhi, Apr 20: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Monday demanded a high-level investigation into the lynching incident that took place in Palghar district of Maharashtra on April 16 night where a mob allegedly lynched two sadhus belonging to Juna Akhada along with their driver.
In a press statement issued here today Milind Parande, Secretary-General of VHP expressed his anguish over the killing of the venerated sadhus and their associate in Palghat, Maharashtra saying that this attack seems to be part of the deeper conspiracy as many times in the past, there had been incidents of brutal violence inspired by the leftists in this area.
Parande demanded a high-level investigation into this brutal incident so that the killers and their accomplices could be tried fast and punished at the earliest possible.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in his social media interaction Monday afternoon assured quick action against the culprits and appealed to the people not to give a religious or communal color to this incident which according to him must have happened due to some kind of misunderstanding.
Condemning the incident without mincing words, he said that though Maharashtra is known for holding saints in high regard and esteem and ensuring their safety and security, the activities of the leftists have been going on in Palghar area these days on a high pitch. They also have a long history of killing Hindu leaders. Incidents like this mob lynching are part of the Left’s own action plan, he said adding that the country has not forgotten the heinous murder of Swami Laxmanandaji Maharaj in Odisha some years ago.
Parande said that though the cops have arrested some persons in this incident to save them from the pressure from Saint Samaj and Hindu society, the main accused in this heinous act seem to be still absconding.
The VHP Secretary-General said that the Maharashtra Chief Minister must institute a high-level investigation into the incident to punish the killers at the earliest.
