New Delhi, December 08: After Andhra Pradesh was hit with the mysterious disease, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is reportedly sending a team of experts to Eluru to investigate the mystery disease.
According to the Union Minister of State for Home Affair G Kishan Reddy, the central team comprising DR Jamshed Nayar Associate professor at AIIMS, Dr. Aninash Deodhhtawar virologist at NIV, Dr. Sanket Kulkarni Deputy Director at National Centre for Disease control New Delhi. They will find out the root causes of the illness.
Although district Collector Revu Muthyala Raju has said that the disease has not shown any sign of
contagiousness, the government doesn't want to take any risks because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As per the state government over 350 people have fallen sick due to the virus. While 157 patients are undergoing treatment, 168 others have been discharged. Of the total patients, 307 are from Eluru, 30 are from the rural areas of the city. Three people from Denduluru were also admitted to the hospital also shown to have the same disease. The affected persons complained of 3 to 5 minutes of epileptic fits without repetition, forgetfulness, anxiety, vomiting, headache, and back pain.
In the past 24 hours, 62 medical camps were held, and 20 ambulances and 445 beds were made available for treatment at Eluru government hospital and four other institutes. Fifty beds were also allotted in Vijayawada government general hospital, along with some medical personnel, for the treatment of the affected persons.
The officials said that they have conducted tests for drinking water from various parts of the town, all reports are normal. Tests for the presence of heavy metals in water, they are also at the normal level. Tests for viruses are also conducted, they are also in normal condition.
