Getting people closer to the govt! Good Governance Week by Think India, Dec 21-27

Pune, December 23: Good governance depends on ability to take responsibility by both, the administration and the people! Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was best known for his stellar governance and upholding the essence of democracy. In line with the theory, commemorating his birth anniversary, Think India West Zone is coordinating the Good Governance week from 21-27 December.

This insightful week is set to observe revered speakers and a free of cost certificate course. "The list of eminent guests include Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia (Honourable M.P. Rajya Sabha), Shri Rajat Sethi (Advisor CM Manipur), Shri Ravi Pokharna (CEO RVP), Shri Sarayu Roy (MLA & Renowned Politician), Dr Unnat Pandit (Dean ABVSME, JNU), Shri Shantanu Gupta ( Renowned Author)", the statement read.
 
On December 23, 2014 the ninety-year old stalwart and Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya were announced as recipients of India's highest civilian award for merit, the Bharat Ratna, by the then Indian President Pranab Mukherjee. Following the announcement, the newly elected administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi established that the birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister would be henceforth commemorated annually in India as Good Governance Day.

The day marks awareness of the government's commitment towards the openness and integrity of its administration. It is praised for standardising the operation of the government and for making it a highly efficient and responsible government for national people. Think India, through this initiative tends to get people closer to the government to become active participants in the process of good governance.
