Hind Mazdoor Kisan Samiti is the seventh farmers union that has extended support to the farm laws in the last two weeks. The previous groups were from Haryana, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

HMKS Secretary Satish Kumar said, the association fully supports the new farm laws that are in the interest of the farming community and will end farmers' exploitation done by middlemen, since ages.

He said, HMKS urged the government to consider some amendments in the new law to ensure that the MSP procurement continues. Farmers have the freedom to sell their produce within and outside mandis and that contract-farming should be based on crops and not on farm land.
