New Delhi, December 02: Actress Kangna Ranaut land in another legal trouble, over her comment on Bilkis Bano who is fondly known as the “Dadi of Shaheen Bagh. Punjab based lawyer named Hakam Singh has sent a legal notice to the actress demanding an apology over the tweet.
In a tweet, which has now been deleted, Kangana Ranaut had claimed that she (dadi) was available for hire to make an appearance in protests for Rs 100.
"Ha ha ha, she is the same dadi who featured in Time magazine for being the most powerful Indian... And she is available in 100 rupees. Pakistani journos have hijacked international PR for India in an embarrassing way. We need our people to speak for us internationally," Ranaut had said in a tweet.
Advocate Hakam Singh, who sent a notice to Ranaut said, "I sent a legal notice for a tweet misidentifying Ms. Mohinder Kaur as Bilkis Bano with an insinuation that she(Ms. Kaur) was available as a hired protestor for Rs100. The notice gives Ranaut 7 days to issue an apology failing which a defamation case will be pursued."
In his legal notice he said, Kangana should have authenticated information before posting it on social media and demanded an apology over her tweets.
That by using such lower remarks for the said lady, you have not only lowered down the prestige and image of the said lady, but you have also lowered down the image and prestige of each lady as well as of each person, who takes part in protests for a noble cause and for fighting their rights," the notice read.
The advocate stated that Kangana Ranaut had "hurt the sentiments, image, and repute of the said lady and hurt the sentiments of the farmers" with her photo.
Kangna has given a week to tender an apology, otherwise, a defamation case would be filed against her.
This should be worth to note that Shaheen Bagh protester is also slowly participating in the ongoing farmer's protest in Delhi. Chandrashekhar Ravan, Chief of the Bhim Army, also took part in the protest by visiting the Ghazipur border.
