New Delhi, Nov 5: The Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has demanded stern legislation to curb the violent incidents caused by fundamentalists. In a resolution passed at an urgent webinar meeting the MRM urged all the countries of the world, all state governments and the Central Government of India and the political parties to take steps to contain the violence in the name of religious fundamentalism.
The MRM press release issued immediately after the meeting said that fundamentalism of some fundamentalist
Muslims is taking a dangerous turn in the name of Islam in India as well as in the
whole world. Beheading of a teacher in France; murdering a Hindu girl Nikita in
Haryana just because she refused to marry a Muslim youth and change her
religion; offering Namaz at the Nanadababa temple in Mathura;
disrespecting the national tri-color by former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti and
Farukh Abdullah’s talk of liberating Kashmir with the help of China as well as
terrorist attacks on BJP members in Kashmir and encouraging Muslim
fundamentalism by the opposition parties in the name of Muslim vote bank
politics; are all very disturbing incidents which are threatening the peace and
harmony in the country.
To discuss the situation arising out of such incidents, an emergency webinar meeting of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) office-bearers from across the country was held on Tuesday. Mohammad Afzal, national convener of the MRM presided over the meeting wherein MRM members from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and from Goa, Gujarat to Assam, Manipur participated. Heads of various cells of the MRM as well as prominent office-bearers discussed the abovementioned incidents and opined that the incidents presented the venomous, satanic and inhuman face of fundamentalism sounding alarm bells for the entire humanity.
The members unanimously resolved to condemn such incidents and urged the countries of the world, political parties of India, the various state governments and the Central Government to take strong measures to curb such acts and bring in legislation to contain any such acts in the future.
Members also resolved that the MRM shall organize programs to burn effigies of Islamic fundamentalist forces in the coming days.
The MRM also appeals the right-thinking Muslims of India that they should raise their voice against such demonic violence and spread the Islam’s message of peace, harmony, brotherhood and wellbeing in order to maintain cordial atmosphere and peace in the society.
