Comedian Bharti Singh, husband Harsh Limbachiya get bail in drugs case

Mumbai, November 24: Bombay magistrate court in Mumbai on Monday granted bail, Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa, who were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau over alleged possession and use of marijuana.

 

It just comes a day after the court had remanded them to judicial custody till December 4. The bail would be granted upon furnishing a bail bond of Rs.15000.

 

The couple was been booked under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) (involves the small quantity of drugs) and 8(c) (possession of drugs) and 27 (consumption of drugs) of the NDPS Act.

 

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Singh and her husband early Sunday after they recovered ganja (cannabis) from their house in suburban Andheri. The couple was produced before a magistrate's court on Sunday afternoon. The NCB had on Saturday conducted a search at Singh's office and residence after they got a tip of that.

 

In the last three months, top Bollywood actors - Arjun Rampal, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakulpreet Singh, and Shraddha Kapoor - have been questioned by the NCB as a part of the probe.
