An official admission of the fact that Pakistan has been effectively involved in the Pulwama Terror attack has come for the first time from their side. The incident is for the first time that a Pakistan minister has admitted what India has long maintained that Islamabad directly and indirectly encourages and supports terror groups that target India.

On 14th Feb 2019, a a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu- Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora, in the Pulwama district of the then Indian state of J&K. The attack resulted in 40 CRPF personnel being martyred and the death of  the attacker. The attacker was identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, who was a local from Pulwama district, and a member of Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the Islamist terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed. After the attack when Pakistan was claimed to be responsible for the attack, Islamabad had condemned the attack and denied any kind of involvement in it. However, on Oct 29, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary, who was then the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, officially admitted that Pakistan was responsible by saying "Our success in Pulwama, is a success of this nation under the leadership of Imran Khan," in the Parliamentary session.

The Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Anurag Srivastava once again criticized Pakistan for failing to curb terrorism directed against India, during the weekly news briefing on Oct 29.
