During his Dussehra address, Thackeray said, "Mumbai is PoK, there are drug addicts everywhere – they are painting such a picture. They don’t know in our house we grow tulsi, not ganja. Ganja fields are in your state, you know where, not in our Maharashtra," referring to Kangana’s home state Himachal Pradesh.

Responding to the CM and she wrote, "Chief Minister you are a very petty person, Himachal is called Dev Bhumi it has the maximum number of temples also no zero crime rate, yes it has a very fertile land it grows apples, kiwis, pomegranate, strawberries one can grow anything here." She further added, "You being a leader having such a vengeful, myopic and ill-informed views about a state which has been the abode of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati along with many great saints like Markandya and Manu Rishi, Pandavas spent a large part of their exile in Himachal Pardesh."

Hitting out at Thackeray she wrote, ‘you should ashamed of yourself’ and for ‘using your power to insult, damage and humiliate people who don’t agree with you’. Calling it a ‘shame’, she also wrote, ‘ You don’t deserve the chair you have acquired by playing dirty politics.’

She added that both Himachal and Mumbai were her homes, as she highlighted its beauty and opportunities respectively. Kangana also wrote, “Don’t you dare to snatch our democratic rights and divide us, your filthy speeches are a vulgar display of your incompetence.”

She also wrote that Thackeray was ‘behaving like he owns Maharashtra’ and having the 'audacity' of ‘dividing the country’. She also called Chief Minister the worse product of nepotism. "Raut called me Haramkhor now Uddhav called me namak haram, he is claiming I won’t get food in my state if Mumbai does not give me shelter, shame on you I am your son’s age this is how you speak to a self-made single woman, Chief Minister you are the worse product of nepotism."

She slammed CM Thackeray'and said, "Chief Minister I am not drunk on my father’s power and wealth like you, if I wanted to be a nepotism product I could have stayed back in Himachal, I hail from a renowned family, I didn’t want to live off on their wealth and favours, some people have self-respect and self-worth.
This has all has been started since she tweeted that she feels unsafe in Mumbai and referred to it as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
