Bhopal, September 16: Heavy rains in the state of Madhya Pradesh have created flood like situation where most districts have been washed out ruining the normal lifestyle of the people there.
The rescue and relief work has been started on war footing in flood affected Mandsaur, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Bhind Sheopur, Neemuch, Damoh, Raisen and Ashok Nagar districts and a more of 45 thousand have been evacuated to safer places.
Hundred jawans of SDRF, Six hundred Jawans of Home Guard, two-hundred and ten jawans of NDRF and fifteen thousand jawans of State Police Force have been deployed for the relief and rescue work, the officials confirmed.
Meanwhile, financial assistance of Rs 100 crore has been given to the flood affected districts while Rs 325 crore has been spent on relief and rescue work. Following the request of the State Government, the Centre is to soon send an Inter Ministerial Team to study loss caused by the rains.
