VHP America welcomes repeal of Article 370, 35A

USA, Aug 6: The World Hindu Council (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) of America has congratulated the Government of India for repealing Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah has got the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Bill passed in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, thus paving the way for Jammu and Kashmir to join the other Indian states.

 The VHA Press release said that with the removal of this provision granting special status the regions of Jammu and Kashmir and Laddakh will finally be fully integrated with the rest of the Indian Union, allowing for effective and sustainable development of these regions.

The VHPA appealed to all the Indians to join people of Jammu and Kashmir and Laddakh in celebrating this momentous occasion.

The VHPA assured all possible help in ensuring the safe return of Hindus from the Kashmir Valley, back to their native land. The VHPA urged the Government of India to work towards ensuring the recovery of parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Laddakh regios from the illegal occupation of Pakistan and China.

The VHPA also appealed the global community to support the people of J & K and Laddakh in their struggle to fight against Islamist terror for the sake of lasting peace.
