New Delhi, August 5: Slating a bold and historic decision for India, bringing Jammu and Kashmir under central government, scrapping Article 370, the Centre has fulfilled what it had promised in its manifesto. Together in one voice, India welcomed the decision to scrap Article 370 and keeping in view to enhance internal security, Indian Army and Indian Air Force has been put on high alert.
Foreseeing the action that needs to be taken for the security of the two new Union Territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the government planned to deploy additional forces in the Valley. Indian Army and Indian Air Force have been put on high alert, following revoking of Article 370 and other decisions announced by Government of India on Monday in Rajya Sabha.
Close to 8,000 paramilitary troops airlifted and moved in from Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and other parts of the country to the Kashmir valley. In addition, more troops are been deployed to the area.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation also issued an advisory stating "As advised by security agencies, a red alert has been imposed on the entire DMRC network. Please allow extra time in security checks.”
Ever since the advisory issued by government stated tourists and pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra to leave immediately, there were many speculations as to what was brewing in Jammu and Kashmir. Answering all questions, the Indian Army thoroughly eliminated terrorists and their launch pads near Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
