Glimpse of unified India! Artists from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh create soulful rendition of National Anthem

Srinagar, August 15: Marking its first Independence Day for a fully integrated Jammu and Kashmir, the crown state gave a glimpse by paying a musical ode of National Anthem. Signifying solidarity towards the historic move of passing the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill 2019, eminent artists from Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh created their own rendition of the National Anthem.

 

The short music video of roughly one minute is shown to feature noted artists like Saurabh Zadoo, Sonali Dogra, Raj Pandit, Neerja Pandit and the others. Indian filmmaker and social activist, Ashoke Pandit shared a post on Twitter to express his feeling, stressing on the need to carry forward the vision of 'One India ' through art, culture and music.

 

Just ten days after the passage of the historic bill, India stepped into its 73rd year of Independence. With PM Modi describing the event's meaning by using with the words 'One Nation-One Constitution', August 15, 2019 was regarded as first independence of unified Jammu and Kashmir.

During his speech on Independence Day, PM Modi spoke about the abrogation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Talking about the benefits of the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, he said the twin articles strengthened corruption, terrorism, and dynasty rule. He added that now the state's citizens have received their rights, access to the Centre, as Indians all over have supported the move.
