New Delhi, Aug. 1: The 1st session of 17th LokSabha is one of the most productive sessions of India’s legislative history. Opposition members in the LokSabha accused the government of making frequent and late changes in the list of business, making it difficult for them to prepare for bills.

Now, making this situation correct and putting a full stop on this accusations, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla today said, “He will care that members get information about the bills on the agenda at least one day in advance”.

Making allegations, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “the bills were being brought in without taking members into confidence”.

Countering these allegations, MoS Parliamentary Affairs, Arjun Ram Meghwal expressed, “the bills were discussed in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) and only those bills are coming for which time had been allotted by the committee”.

The speaker, Om Birla stated, opposition members, can have detailed discussion on their concerns in the meeting of BAC and the bill being brought has been discussed at the meeting of the committee.

On this issue, Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pralhad Joshi said, BAC meeting has been held, time allocated and bill have been circulated.
