New Delhi, July 26: Legal Rights Observatory (LRO), in a letter to Union Home Secretory and Delhi Police today, has requested to register FIR against Asad Ashraf and Roshni Sengupta for defaming India abroad under the pretext of mob lynching through films.
LRO, in the letter has stated that Asad Ashraf has arranged screening of highly provocative film on Sunday, July 28 which is packed with utter lies.
“The film is highly biased in nature and have no mention of Hindus killed across the India by mobs. It is suspected that film is being funded by foreign agencies through crowd funding. The sole objective of the film is to defame India across the globe, to create religious divide and hatred within India and to trigger communal violence in India by creating false sense of Muslim persecution,” said the LRO in the letter.
Pointing towards Roshni Sengupta, the LRO states that she has screened the same film at International Conference of Asia Studies, ICAS 11 Film Festival, Leiden, Netherlands to promote "Hate India" campaign.
In the request letter to Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and Delhi Police Commissioner, LRO has requested to file FIR against Asad Ashraf under IPC sections 153(A), 295(A) and 298 including sections of IT Act.
The LRO has also requested to register FIR against Roshni Sengupta under all relevant IPC sections pertain claiming that the whole campaign by her is to paint India in bad colors all over the world and to shame and defame Indians living overseas.
