New Delhi, July 19: After performing a remarkably prominent role in the2019 elections in garnering Muslim votes for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) is gearing up for a bigger role in nation-building process. A consensus to elucidate such a role from the Muslim community emerged during the two-day marathon meeting of the national level meeting of MRM office-bearers and activists.

The meeting chaired by National Convener Mohd Afzal and other national conveners and prominent workers from all over the country, was conducted by Indresh Kumar, a senior RSS functionary, decided to constitute groups that will study in depth the issues assigned to them and present a workable solution to such issues.

The major areas in which the MRM would start working included Jammu & Kashmir, Withering Pakistan (टूटता बिखरता पाकिस्तान), Ramjanmasthan Ayodhya, Contacting foreign embassies, Madarsa Education, Women empowerment and Environment and cleanliness.

The MRM will also unfurl the national tricolor in maximum madarsas, schools, mosques, dargahs and mohallas to celebrate the Independence Day and to remember the martyrs who laid down their lives at the altar of the motherland during the freedom struggle and also during the post-independence period. This will be held during August 12, 2019 to Aug 15, 2019.

The J & K study group will be headed by Mohd Afzal; Dr Shahid Akhtar and Virag Pachpore will lead the study group on Pakistan; Girish Juyal and Islam Abbas will be leaders of study groupon Ayodhya Sri Ramjanmasthan issue; Latif Magdum and Mohd Mazahir Khan will lead the study group on Madarsa Education, Adv. Shaheen Pervez will lead the women empowerment group while Faruk Khan will be heading the environment and cleanliness group.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, MRM Patron and Guide and senior RSS Functionary Indresh Kumar told the reporters that with these groups the MRM wants to play a bigger role in making India a world leader. He said that during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the MRM has played a major role in awakening the Muslim voters. The MRM had conducted over 4000 meetings in Muslim-dominated areas and established contacts with lakhs of Muslims. As a result, an increase in percentage of Muslim votes towards the BJP was seen in the Lok Sabha elections.

Buoyed by the response, the MRM has decided to play a bigger role in the process of nation building by encouraging communal harmony, peace and brotherhood, along with development and progress of the Muslim community. Muslims are not minority in India but they are part of the mainstream and should contribute their mite in the nation-building process, Indresh Kumar said.

Modernization of Madarsa education is one such field that needs more attention and care. The study group of Madarsa education will look into the problems, issues and concepts related to imparting religious education, formal education, inculcating patriotism and cultural ethos and will submit their findings to the government for further implementation.

The study group on women empowerment would set up ‘Sulah Kendras’ in every state to counter the instant triple talaq cases and to save families from breaking. Besides, this group will also try to empower women to make them self-reliant and live a respectable life in the society. The MRM also thanked the Narendra Modi government for passing the triple talaq legislation in the Lok Sabha and hoped that it will be passed in Rajya Sabha too to make it an effective law.

The study group will also extend financial help to poor and divorced women besides helping in marriages of the poor girls, providing school uniforms and books and other educational material to students.

The issue of Ramjanmasthan Ayodhya has become the most contentious in the recent days because of various factors. The judiciary too has not shown any willingness to expressly resolve this issue of national pride. The MRM had organized a national conference of the Muslims in December 2016 with a slogan “हिंदुस्थानी मुसलमानों ने ठाना हैं इमाम-ए-हिन्द श्रीराम का मंदिर बनवाना हैं, झगडा-फसाद सदा के लिए मिटाना हैं, भाईचारा, अमन, लाना हैं. और मुस्लमान की पहचान बाबर-बाबरी से नहीं, मदर-ए-वतन हिंदुस्तान से हैं” (The Muslims of India have decided to build the temple of Imam-E-Hind Sri Ram at Ayodhya and to permanently end the communal clashes by ushering in peace and brotherhood. The identity of Muslims is not by Babar or Babri but by the motherland).

Taking this slogan as the bedrock of the process of finding lasting solution to the vexed issue, the MRM will be organizing programs in Ayodhya and elsewhere in the country involving common Muslim masses, religious leaders, and women. The MRM intends to play an active role to find out a lasting solution to this issue. The archaeological findings, historical facts and faith of the people endorse that Ayodhya was the birthplace of Lord Sri Rama. When the world is respecting the Mecca-Medina, the Vatican, the Golden Temple, Bodh Gaya etc. associated with major religions, why not same respect be shown for Ayodhya which is also associated with Sanatana Dharma and millions of Hindus believe that it was the birthplace of Lord Sri Rama, Indresh Kumar asked.

The issue of environment pollution has assumed dangerous portents. The MRM study group on this issue will take up tree plantation activity on a large scale and plant at least 5 lakh trees in the premises of mosques, madarsa, dargah, schools and locality during this season. The group headed by Faruk Khan of Indore will also distribute at least 20000 saplings of Tulsi, known as Rehan in Islamic parlance among the Muslims. It is believed that Rehan is a ‘heavenly sapling’ and its daily ‘deedar’ paves the way of heaven for the people.

Indresh Kumar said that the MRM activists will go to the Muslim community and spread these positive thoughts among them in order to build confidence in them about the role they are expected to play in the nation-building process.

The meeting was attended by all the national conveners and prominent MRM activists from most states of India.
