Following the Indian culture at its peak and honouring ‘Maa’ for her backing abide the election procedures, PM Narendra Modi visited Gandhinagar yesterday to seek his mother’s blessings after the massive election victory.
Modi’s convoy arrived at his mother’s residence being welcomed with a thunderous applause and cheering. Supporters were seen raising slogans in praise of Modi while holding placards with his pictures. “Its 300+ this time”, he merrily informed Hiraben, touching her feet with due respect.
Modi on Sunday while addressing the masses at Ahmedabad said that his return to power was a huge responsibility that the people have bestowed on him. Speaking at a rally, first since the massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections, he said, "We have to utilise these five years to solve issues of the common citizens".
“The coming years will be about participation of people in governance and raising awareness”, he said expressing his grief for last week's fire tragedy in Surat, in which 22 school students died. Later in the mornings today, paying deep prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, he thanked the people for reposing faith in him.
The Varanasi parliamentary constituency wore a festive look to welcome Modi, it being his first visit to the locality after he won the polls by a huge margin of 4.79 lakh votes. Later today, he is set to travel by road from the police lines to Bansphatak, with his cavalcade passing through various parts of the city.
