On point innovative idea to attract millennium voters, Leh sets selfie kiosk to promote polling participation

Leh, April 5: As the election fever soars high, the election commission offices in state and district authorities have pulled up their socks to create awareness. The state of Jammu and Kashmir is no behind as the District Election Authorities in Leh are adopting innovative ideas to attract Millennium Voters. Sensing their active participation on Social media, Leh DEO has arranged selfie kiosk to propagate polling Participation.

 

Leh District Election Officer Avny Lavasa has inaugurated a selfie kiosk in the main Bazaar of Leh, this morning. This is a part of ongoing Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP)to involve more voters in the polls.

Selfie kiosks are targeted to the Millennium Voters who are active on the social media. Kiosk has polling date and slogan My Vote Counts, to attract voters in the Desh ka Maha Tyohar, the General Elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Avny Lavasa said that Dist Election Authority and SVEEP teams are making all efforts to get youth enrolled in the voters list. SVEEP activities will also be taken up in Jammu for Ladakh Constituency, where number of Ladakh students are pursuing their higher studies.

Youth Icon for the General Elections of Ladakh Constituency and internationally acclaimed film director Stanzin Gya, Leh Education Dept JD Tashi Dolma, teachers and SVEEP volunteers attended the kiosk inauguration program.
