Intensifying LS election campaign, PM Modi holds roadshow in Ranchi

Ranchi, April 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a massive roadshow on Tuesday evening to strengthen the BJP's prospects in the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand which is ruled by his party.



 

The Prime Minister took a ride in an open SUV followed by his party workers and others. Surrounded by his bodyguards, Modi waved to a long line of people who waved back at him. Thousands of people, including BJP workers, stood beside both sides of the road in the 2.5 km stretch from the Birsa Munda Airport to Birsa Chowk. Women, children and elderly people cheered Modi and showered petals as the prime minister stood in an open vehicle and waved at them. He got down at Birsa Chowk and offered floral tributes at the statue of tribal icon Birsa Munda.

 

Scores of locals, as well as BJP youth wing members, lined up on the streets from Birsa Munda International Airport to Birsa Chowk.

Slogans like 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Modi, Modi' were raised during the roadshow.

Earlier today, Modi cast his vote at Nishan Vidyalaya situated in Ahmedabad

There are 14 Lok Sabha seats at stake in the state, polling for which will be held in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh phases of polling - on April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19 - respectively.

Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
