New Delhi, April 23: With increasing temperature, the number of voters turning out to take part in the third phase of Lok Sabha polls also seems to rise. Covering 117 parliamentary constituencies across 15 states and union territories, Election Commission has recorded a considerable rise in voters participation.
According to the data released by the Election Commission, it has been noted that the state of Assam has recorded the highest percentage of voting with 62.13%. It has been observed that Assam undertook lot of initiatives to create voter awareness among the masses. The percentage turning out is the result of the efforts taken by the state.
Likewise, the other states have also signified a impressive turn out.
Assam: 62.13%
West Bengal: 66.80%
Bihar: 43.94%
Goa: 57.12%
Gujarat: 49.70%
Jammu and Kashmir: 10.64%
Karnataka: 49.79%
Chhattisgarh: 55.26%
Kerala: 54.84%
Maharashtra: 44.23%
Odisha: 45.38%
Uttar Pradesh: 46.82%
Tripura: 58.31%
Dadra and Nagar Haveli: 56.81%
Daman and Diu: 56.84%
Polling for the Tripura East constituency was also being held today. It was earlier scheduled to be held on April 18, but was postponed due to the law-and-order situation there.
As the political battle intensifies, leaders and politicians pitch in for a strong base for the upcoming phases of Lok Sabha polls. On one hand, it is national security and benefits of the people, while on the other hand, it is 70 years of corruption and jumla manifestos for the masses.
