Itanagar, March 26: Announcing the election bugle, the political parties have rolled up their sleeves to grab the most awaited power. Not too far, but the election fever is soaring high, rising the excitement among the people. Northeast has always been good to Bharatiya Janata Party and likewise it has proven to be a good omen for the party. In an interesting move, BJP has won two assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh ‘uncontested’. In a major victory, Sir Kento Jini has won uncontested from Alo East constituency and Er Taba Tedir won unopposed from 16 Yachuli Assembly segment in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Undoubtedly, the party has worked day in and out to bring development in the region and that has reaped fruitful results as well. The victory news came in limelight when, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav in a tweet said, “Victory March of BJP starts from Arunachal Pradesh: Sir Kento Jini has won (uncontested) from Alo East constituency.”

It did not stop to this, in his next tweet, Ram Madhav tweeted saying, “Another victory also from Arunachal Pradesh: Er Taba Tedir won unopposed from 16 Yachuli Assembly segment. (These two victories are for Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, which goes to polls together with parliament on 11 April).”

While Northeast has given a green signal to BJP with these two wins, the state will go for polling in the first phase on April 11. Minister of Home Affairs for State, Kiren Rijiju will contest from Arunachal West Constituency while Tapir Gao will contest from Arunachal East constituency for parliamentary polls.

BJP has a history in Northeast as the 2009 Assembly polls of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu was declared elected unopposed. The 2014 elections had BJP winning with utmost majority with 42 seats. In the past five years, the party has been able to expand its presence and become a truly pan-India party. The fact that the BJP has won its first seat in the Lok Sabha polls speaks volumes of how the party has been able to emerge as a key player in the North-Eastern State.
