Lucknow, December 24: Bringing back and thinking of the memories of India’s one of the tallest leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25 at Lucknow. A lot of preparation is being done for PM Modi's arrival in Lucknow. The Prime Minister will arrive here at 2.30 pm tomorrow and will leave for Delhi around 5 pm.
PM Modi will unveil a huge bronze statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at around 3:30 pm. This statue made of bronze metal is 25 feet high. It has been built by Yogi Adityanath Sarkar from Jaipur. At the same time PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Atal Bihari Medical University. A three-day ceremony is going on in Lucknow on this occasion. The National Poets Conference will be held on 25 December.
Vajpayee, who led the National Democratic Alliance government from 1998-2004, was the first-ever leader from the BJP to have become the nation's Prime Minister. He served as Prime Minister thrice, briefly in 1996, and then for two terms between 1998 and 2004.
The BJP stalwart passed away last year on August 16 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences following a prolonged illness.
