Lucknow, December 17: Uttar Pradesh government today tabled in assembly its second supplementary budgetary demands for 4210.85 crores rupees for 2019-20 financial year. The supplementary demands were tabled by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna. Forced by its habits, the opposition created ruckus in the house.
The winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature began on Tuesday with a loud uproar from the opposition. As soon as the assembly proceedings commenced at 11 am, members of opposition parties created a ruckus in the House raising the issue of demonstrations in the state against law and order and the amended citizenship law.
Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dixit appealed to the members of opposition parties to remain calm and let the proceedings go on. He adjourned the proceedings of the House for 15 minutes. On the other hand, there was a similar view in the Legislative Council and the Question Hour could not be held due to the uproar of the opposition members.
As soon as the proceedings of the House began, the opposition parties started creating a ruckus, raising the issue of law and order and revised citizenship law. The bench urged them to cooperate in the smooth running of the house, but the house was adjourned twice as the noise continued. Later, the proceedings were adjourned till 12.20 pm and the Question Hour could not be held.
Earlier, SP members demonstrated in front of Chaudhary Charan Singh's statue located in Vidhan Bhavan campus and also staged a protest against BJP's 'anti-people policies'.
