New Delhi, December 16: "We strive keeping balance amongst the various layers of the economy while setting or implementing the reforms", professed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing the delegates at the Indian Economic Conclave 2019 in the national capital, further adding that the business inputs were to aid everybody aligned in the formal sectors.
Speaking of the three big reforms that the BJP-led government undertook in last five and a half years, it being Demonetisation, GST and the merger of Public Sector Banks, Sitharaman said that these are some of the major, significant reforms, and they affect several layers of economy.
"Demonetisation was implemented with a motive to pump out the non taxed, illegal money, it did. It also made sure that the monetary system gets alignied into the formal sector, it did. These do have an impact when industries, small businesses all of them will stick to the restructured work ethic, work culture and the work business model", the Finance Minitster said.
Adding of the benefits she also affirmed, "This new business model will aid the industries to function in a formalised sector. If they remain informal still, they have no access to the benefits derived from the said sector. Like the way in the GST, the registered traders have access to the input tax credit that allows them to cut off the excess payment".
The benefits of getting formal are there for everybody to see. So, its absolutely wrong to conclude that these reforms have not worked at all", she said taking jibe at the critics and economists unfavouring. "There are problems, yes, but we all are getting a way out of it. The tweaking takes time, that is multi farious as if one section wants a tweak, other thinks it would adversely affect them. So we strive to keep the balance for the imputs to help everybody in the economy", she added.
