The real struggle for us is for the citizen to cease to be the property of the state. 'You are a human being. You have rights inherent in that reality. You have dignity and worth that exist prior to law'

No matter how pathetic or pitiful, every human is fated to have one moment in their lives in which they can change their own destiny. Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place, at that moment tends to become the center of the universe. The day today, the Human Rights Day, is to rise against anyone who deny people their rights and challenge their very humanity. 'Standing up for Human Rights', is the only way to be adopted when laws are silent in times of war.

Slating some significant reasons of why we celebrate the day, the objectives aligned would be to promote the awareness about human rights among the people all around the world.
The day also stands high to emphasize the endeavors of the UNGA in order to progress the overall human rights conditions, to get together and celebrate in cooperation to discuss and highlight the specific issues of the human rights. It further encourages the vulnerable group of people like women, minorities, youth, poor, disabled person, indigenous people and etc to take part in this event celebration and political decision-making.

Wondering while what actually all this is for, the human rights combine to be a set of rights that are given to every human being regardless of the gender, caste, creed, religion, nation, location or economic status. These are said to be moral principles that illustrate certain standards of human behavior, protected by law, applicable everywhere and at every time.
Basic human rights include the right to life, right to fair trial, right to remedy by competent tribunal, right to liberty and personal security, right to own property, right to education, right of peaceful assembly and association, right to marriage and family, right to nationality and freedom to change it, freedom of speech, freedom from discrimination, freedom from slavery, freedom of thought, conscience and religion, freedom of movement, right of opinion and information, right to adequate living standard and freedom from interference with privacy, family, home and correspondence.

While these rights are protected by law, many of these are still violated by people for different reasons. The United Nations committees have been formed in order to ensure that every individual enjoys these basic rights. Governments of different countries and many non-government organizations have also been formed to monitor and protect these rights.
