With everyone’s blessings, I will get gold: Bajrang Punia receives Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award

New Delhi, November 29: Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju yesterday presented National Sports Awards. Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia received the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award while Indian track and field athlete Muhammad Anas and shotputter Tejinderpal Singh Toor got felicitated with Arjuna Awards. Athletics coach Mohinder Singh Dhillon was conferred the Dronacharya Award.
 
 
"Any sportsperson feels good after receiving an award and it is the biggest sports award anyone can ask for. My sole focus is on the Olympics now. And the responsibility has increased. My preparations are going really well. It’s been 10-12 days that I’m training on the mat and I’ve recovered from my injury. I’ll do my best in Tokyo and if I have everyone’s blessing, I’ll get the gold," said Bajrang after receiving the award.

My best wishes go to your coaches, nutritionists, well-wishers and everyone connected with you, for the sacrifices they have made,” said Kiren Rijiju after felicitating the athletes.
