Leh/Srinagar, Oct 22: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also warned the neighbouring country. Pakistan should stop using terrorists against India, he said warning that if this does not happen, then India has the option of more stringent action to contain terrorism, Singh said.
The Defence Minister and COD Gen Bipin Rawat visited Ladakh on Monday. He dedicated the bridge on Shyok River joining Daulat Beg Oldi sector at a height of 14000 ft. This is the highest bridge in India and is named after Col Chewang Rinchen.
Addressing a program on this occasion Rajnath Singh said the way for development of Ladakh is opened the moment Article 370 and 35 A giving special status to J & K was abrogated. However, Pakistan does not tolerate this peace in J & K and is trying to disturb the development process by supporting terror activities.
Singh said that India taught lessons thrice to Pakistan but it failed to mend the ways and continued to sponsor terror activities to destabilize India. If that country failed to mend its ways now, then we will be left with no alternative but to launch a bigger offensive, he said.
Rajnath Singh declared the highest war field of Siachen Glacier open for tourism. He said that there is ample scope for development of tourism in Ladakh and with the opening of Siachen for tourism the visiting tourists can move freely between Siachen Base Camp to Kumar Post as per their choice.
According to reports the Governor said that India will dismantle terrorist infrastructures inside the PoK if terrorism emanating from Pakistan’s soil is not contained effectively.
“We will dismantle terrorist camps and if they still don’t mend their ways, we will go inside (PoK). (Terrorist camps ko hum bilkul barbad kar denge aur agar ye nahi baaz aaye to hum andar jayenge),” he said while speaking to reporters here.
The governor made the remarks while answering a question on Indian Army’s action against terrorist camps inside PoK on Sunday.
The Indian Army on Sunday used artillery guns to target terrorist camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) which were actively trying to push terrorists into the Indian territory.
“War is bad and Pakistan should behave. If they don’t mend their ways, what will happen in future will be worse than what happened yesterday (kal jo hua hai usse zyada hoga),” he said.
“For people here, I would like to say that there will be a new Kashmir…participate in it and take it ahead,” he said.
