Need to spread teachings of great personalities: Solanki

Bhopal, Oct 21: Chairing the meeting of famous journalist the late Manikchand Vajpayee Centenary Celebration Committee former Governor of Tripura and Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki underlined the need to spread the message of great personalities.

Solanki said that this year happens to be centenary year of many a great personality who left their indelible mark in various spheres of our national life. The inspiration from the lives of these great sons of Mother Bharat would offer a definite direction to fulfilling the dream of New Bharat.

He said that during the birth centenary of famous journalist the late Manikchand Vajpayee’s multi-faceted life should be brought before the society to draw such inspiration.

The committee also deliberated upon reinstating the award in memory of late Manikchand Vajpayee alias Mamaji.

Solanki said that the country is observing 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and birth centenary of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia and Dattopant Thengdi this year and hoped that these events would give a new direction to the progress and development of the country, at a time when the country is striding to become a world leader.

Throwing light on the life of late Manikchand Vajpayee, the former Governor said that Mamaji was a multi-dimensional personality. He was a teacher, a political activist, a successful journalist and RSS Pracharak. He professed journalism as a mission but was free of any bondage.

Vice Chairman of the committee and senior journalist Rajendra Sharma unfolded the details of the centenary program. He said all editions of Swadesh and Vishwa Samvad Kendra of Madhya Pradesh would actively participate in this program.

Sharma said that they would not approach the government to reinstate the award given in the memory of Manikchad Vajpayee and take initiative to reinstate this award on its own in this year. The announcement to this effect would be made in this celebration, he added.

Senior journalists Mahesh Shrivastava, Vijaydatt Shridhar, Rambhuvan Singh Kushwah, Dinesh Gupta, Atul Tare, Ashok Tripathi, Jairam Shukla, Suresh Sharma, Anrag Upadhyaya gave valuable suggestions regarding the program. Editor of ‘Devputra’ Krishan Kumar Ashthana and former Minister Maya Singh also attended the meeting.

Former Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Child Commission and General Secretary of the centenary celebrations committee Dr Raghavendra conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
