New Delhi, Oct 15: The week-long Chaturveda Swahakar Mahayagya organized at Lakshmi-Narayan Mandir (Birla Temple), jointly by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Ashok Singhal Foundation and Jhandewalan Devi Mandir concluded on Monday.

The six-day event witnessed massive participation of devout people, leaders of various organizations and communities that believed in universal knowledge of the Vedas and religious men and women from various parts of the country and also from abroad.

The management of this Mahayagya was in hands of Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Swami Ramanujacharya Jiyar Chinna Swami and his 61 ‘Vedapathis’ who managed the entire six-day activities of the Mahayagya and explained to the devotes the process and intention of doing this yagya. They offered oblations in the ‘yagya kundas’ with flawlessly chanting the Vedic Mantras.

RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat participated in this event. He underlined the revival of Vedic knowledge for the welfare of the world. He said that though we Indian have close relations with the Vedas, we seldom try to know the real meaning of them.

He said that Vedas include spiritual knowledge and what we call today the modern science also. The Vedas uplift the communities. Dharma holds the society together and Vedas are the root of Dharma. Spiritualism cannot be antagonist to science as Vedas contain both of them. Vedas have the explanation regarding creation related with three ‘gunas’ – ‘satvik, rajas and tamas’ , Bhagwat said while participating in the event on the third day.

Sarsanghchalak further said that internal knowledge is must to safeguard the material science we have acquired in the present era. In absence of this internal or spiritual knowledge disasters are bound to happen. Therefore, we need to revive this Vedic Knowledge again with our efforts because revival of the Vedas is must not only for the Hindus but for the entire humanity. This is not confined to just ways of worship but it is aimed at welfare of the entire universe and we all should dedicate ourselves for this mission, he added.

RSS Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi said that we are here to distribute the treasure of knowledge contained in the Vedas to the entire world and humanity. It has been the tradition of our country that since the hoary past we only offered something to the world. India has been the country that distributed knowledge to the entire humanity and all those who think positively bow to this treasure of knowledge possessed by India.

Bhayyaji Joshi visited the yagya on the fourth day. In his address he said with its excellent thoughts, traditions and life values India is poised to become the world teacher and leader once again. He appealed to the people to strive to become the real heir of Vedic Knowledge. We should not remain mute spectators to this new transformation taking place but become an active part of it, he said.

He said that we are happy with this treasure of knowledge and if we were to continue this tradition of giving we need to increase our capability and capacity to give. That society which follows high life values is capable of giving to others.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also visited the yagya and participated in the pujan process and offered ‘aahuti’ along with RSS Sarkaryawah.

Dinesh Chandra, Member of VHP Managing Committee said that this yagya was conducted for the global welfare. There are numerous misconceptions doing rounds about the Vedas such as women are barred from learning, chanting or teaching Vedas but it has been clearly mentioned in the Second Canto of the 26th Mandala of Yajurveda that all people have the right to learn, teach and spread the Vedas. This yagya is organised to remove such misconceptions. This is historical from the social harmony point of view. All the people, their leaders and religious sects from the lowest to the highest strata of the society are invited. The 61 acharyas who had come from the South have studied the Vedas; they are ‘Ghanapathis’ and experts in the Vedas.

Describing this yagya as a historic event, Dinesh Chandra said that this will go down in the annals of the history as an event heralding social harmony, and scientific tradition in the society and entire world. If we save our culture today our progeny and future will become more secure and safe.

On the occasion of ‘Purnahuti’ oblations were offered with chanting of Vedic Mantras in presence of Chief Patron of the Yagya Swami Chidananda Maharaj of Rishikesh, Swami Vivekanand Maharaj, Muni Vatsal Maharaj, VHP President Vjshnu Sadashiv Kokaje, Jt. Gen Secy Dr Surendra Jain, Ram Madhav, Ravindra Goyal of Jhnadewalan Mandir and others. Swami Raghavanand Maharaj of Udasin Ashram, Paharganj was also prominently present on this occasion.

Devotees from the US, Australia, the UK, Norway, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries were present in this grand ceremony. They urged the saints to perform similar yagya in their respective countries also. Holland’s Prince Luis and other foreign dignitaries donned the Vedic attire to participate in this yagya. Students of VHP’s Ved Vidyalaya at Mandoli were also present.

Swami Chidanand Maharaj of Hardwar explained the objective of this yagya. He said that with the increasing global warming, disparity, discrimination has increased and nature has lost its balance. We believe that the yagyas are helpful in maintaining the balance between the five elements of nature e.g. earth, sky, fire, water, and air besides galaxies, and Nakshatras and goodwill will dominate. Yagya generates such hormones that control and restraint the feelings and emotions of the people. Yagyas bring equality and harmony in the nature thus yagya is the best way to maintain balance of the nature.

This week-long event was visited by revered sant Rupendra Nath, Hrdwar, Sudhanshu Maharaj, Dr Subramanyam Swamy, Ramlal, VHP International Working President Alok Kumar, Raghavananda Maharaj, Swamy Avadesh Das, Sant Trilochan Das, Yogi Arpit Das, MP Minakshi Lekhi, Sudhanshu Mittal, Santosh Taneja, Director of Sankalp, Mukesh Khandekar, Vagish Isar, and others.

Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah and Bhayyaji Joshi performed the puja at the Yagya Vedi.
