INX Media Court: Court issues production warrant against P Chidambaram

New Delhi, October 11: Delhi court today issued production warrant against former finance minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Special judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar issued the warrant after the ED moved the court in the case and directed that Chidambaram be produced before it on 14th of October.

 

The agency said in its plea that it requires custodial interrogation of Chidambaram in the case. He is currently in Tihar jail in connection with the INX Media case lodged by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The court had earlier dismissed Chidambaram's plea seeking to surrender in the ED case.

Noting super severe medical conditions of the INX Media accused, P Chidambaram, caged in Tihar jail for his wrong-doings, the Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed him to relish home cooked food once daily. This is after senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Chidambaram, told the court that the 74-year-old Congress leader was suffering from multiple ailments, including dyslipidemia and irritable bowel disease.
