Speaking at the programme of Narad Jayanti organized by Vishwa Samvad Kendra, the Chief Minister stated sanctity of media which is also known as the fourth pillar of society should be maintained at any cost.
Referring to the emerging world of internet-driven digital platforms, Rupani mentioned that dissemination of correct and factual content is the need of an hour. He maintained people should not get carried away with the vast exposure to the world of information.
Expressing concern about the increasing consumption of negative news in society, the Gujarat Chief Minister has urged media fraternity to shun the practice of sensationalism just for the sake of publicity and TRP ratings. He observed that glorification of negative content is not good for societal health.
On this occasion, Rupani urged media to contribute to government’s upcoming flagship programme ‘Sujalam Sufalam’ in order to increase awareness about the importance of water conservation among citizens. The scheme will be unveiled on 1 May, Gujarat foundation day.
