New Delhi, Oct 19: A day after MJ Akbar’s resignation, who is accused of sexual harassment, Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi has urged political parties to form internal grievance panel in order to address the cases of sexual harassment.

Citing the provisions under the Sexual Harassment at Work Act 2013, Gandhi said that the constitution of an internal committee is a mandatory requirement to ensure a safe working environment for women.

According to the Section 4 of the Sexual Harassment at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal), every organization must have an internal grievance committee where senior woman employee should be employed to address the issues faced by the woman employee.
