Big relief to patients! In-service doctors in Rajasthan ended their 12 days long strike

Jaipur, December 28: The in-service resident doctors in Rajasthan finally called off their 12 days long strike after the state government accepted almost all of their demands. Notably, over 9 thousand in-service doctors who were on strike resumed join their duties today and health services of the state were restored.

 

Notably, the resident doctors in Rajasthan ended their 12 days long strike after eight-hour talks with the ministers of state government and officials. However, all Rajasthan in-service Doctors Association and Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors signed an agreement with the government to end the strike after all their demands were accepted.

The development comes following the High Court’s directions to the state government to proceed in accordance with the low to bring back doctors to work. CM Vasundhara Raje assigned the job to end the strike to four ministers and state BJP president Ashok Parnami. After the eight hours meeting, BJP president Ashok Parnami said that both the parties have reached an amicable solution.

The in-service resident doctors went on an indefinite strike on December 16 of this year against the arrest of some of their fellow doctors under the Rajasthan Essential Services Maintenance Act (RESMA). 86 doctors of Rajasthan were arrested after they demanded better work conditions and more salary benefits. The government later invoked RESMA after which the doctors called for a strike.
