Exclusive from Mira Road, Mumbai: Saud Khan sexually, physically assaults Hindu minor, booked under POCSO, details

On June 7, 2026, a 22-year-old individual identified as Saud Khan was booked by the Maharashtra Police in Mumbai's Mira Road region for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl and forcing her to commit suicide. The accused is also believed to have issued fake promises of marriage to the girl.

 

Khan, as per the exclusive FIR obtained by Newsbharati, has been booked under sections 64, 115, and 351(2) of BNS, 2023, and sections 4, 8 and 12 of the POCSO, 2012. Section 67 of the IT Act has also been imposed against the accused.

 

 

The incident traces back to the year 2022 when the girl studied at L R Tiwari College, Mira Road, Mumbai, where she met the accused for the first time. The duo connected through Instagram and began chatting. Later, they made a few reels, following which their friendship developed, which further got converted into a legitimate relationship.

 

 

The accused expressed his interest in the girl and made her believe that he wanted to marry her. Later, he began to sexually impose himself upon her. On refusal, he would emotionally blackmail her and issue fake promises of marriage. He also would demand money from her, and on refusal, he would hit her.

 

 

 

In the year 2023, he forcefully trapped the girl in a room for two days and sexually assaulted her against her will. On refusal, he also physically assaulted her. This incident was torturous for the woman, so much so that she attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the 9th floor of a building.

 

The girl was lodged at a hospital for 2 straight months. Following this, the girl's family came to know about the event and confronted the accused. They also warned him to stay away from her, but to no avail. The accused, on May 28, opened a fake Instagram profile and began abusing the girl. He demanded nudes and also called her a whore.

 

Notably, this is the second such incident reported from the region since June 1. On June 1, the Kashigaon Police in the Mira Road region of Mumbai filed a police complaint against two persons identified as Pappu Sheikh and Baitullah Khan for forcefully entering a Hindu house and sexually abusing a woman. The victim filed a complaint and stated that the two accused forcefully entered her house and abused her. The accused are also believed to have thrown all the assets placed in the home and threatened the victim with death.

 

In the given case, the Mira Road police are at present looking into the matter and have booked the accused. Further updates in the case are underway.
