Magnificient hat-trick from spinner Kuldeep Yadav led India to defeat Australia in second ODI

Kolkata, September 22: Dominating Indian bowlers bowled out Australian cricket team for only 202 runs who were chasing the mere target of 253 runs. Notably, India defeated Australia by 50 runs in the second One-Day International at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. A sensational hat-trick from spinner Kuldeep Yadav helped India to win the match.

 

Chasing India's total of 252 on a spinning track, Australia were bowled out for 202 runs in 43.1 overs. Australia again had no answer to the Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal who took 2 wickets and Kuldeep Yadav who claimed crucial three wickets. Smith tried out different things but nothing was going Australia's way. Bhuvnesh Kumar took three wickets while two wickets each were taken by Hardik Pandya.


Earlier, batting first, Virat Kohli struck a magnificent 92 while Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav became the only Indian spinner to take a hat-trick in ODIs. Kapil Dev and Chetan Sharma were the other cricketers, who took a hat-trick, were pacers.


For Australia, medium pacers Nathan Coulter-Nile and Kane Richardson bagged three wickets each. With this win, India has taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match series and also reclaimed a No.1 spot in ODI rankings. Third ODI will be played in Indore on Sunday.
